Projects are the concrete actions that put the Technology Roadmap’s visions, including the Partnership, into practice. They are funded through EU research and innovation programmes, including Horizon Europe (until 2027) and Horizon 2020. Projects funded under Horizon 2020 continue to offer valuable insights despite the programme having formally ended.
They play a key role in strengthening cross-sector collaboration, building capacity, and generating knowledge that supports the transition towards a competitive, resilient, and sustainable European waterborne sector. While the Waterborne Technology Platform primarily engages in policy guidance regarding research, development, innovation, upscaling and deployment, projects themselves deliver measurable innovation, sectoral knowledge, and tangible progress toward European sustainability goals.
